MarketWise began in 1999 with one simple idea: publish the kind of financial research we would want to read if our roles were reversed.
We believed that ordinary people could achieve extraordinary financial results if they had access to honest, independent information. That belief became our mission, and it still drives everything we do.
What started with one small publication has grown into a family of eight trusted brands serving more than 3.3 million subscribers worldwide. Together, we publish intelligent, independent research across every sector and asset class. Our analysts, editors, and suite of investing tools help you see through the noise, think clearly, and take control of your financial future.
A Different Kind of Financial Research
We built MarketWise because traditional finance was not built for regular people.
While the world of investing has become louder and faster, the supply of clear, reliable research has not kept pace. And in the wake of AI, that’s more true than ever before. So we created something different: a place where ideas come first no matter how provocative they may be, truth matters, and investors are treated as partners, not customers.
For more than 25 years, our brands have helped readers anticipate turning points and opportunities across the markets. We warned about the dot-com bubble in 2000 and the housing and credit crises that followed. We recognized the rise of regenerative medicine when it was still a niche idea and highlighted the potential of blockchain technology long before it changed how money moves. We wrote about Disney, Berkshire Hathaway, and Microsoft when they were still undervalued stories, and we spotted the power of Nvidia years before it reshaped the future of artificial intelligence.
We didn’t recommend these stocks before we got lucky. They come from hard work, curiosity, and the freedom to follow the facts wherever they lead.

Research for Real People
Our members come from more than 180 countries. Some are making their first trade. Others have managed capital for decades. What they share is a mindset: curiosity, independence, and a desire to think differently about their money.
Our team of experts includes economists, futurists, accountants, medical doctors and ex-Wall Street elite who have spent their careers managing portfolios, building models, and studying market behavior. We only publish research we would want our own families to follow, explain every idea in plain English, and are always transparent about our track records.
Still Guided by the Same Idea
Two decades later, markets are faster, algorithms are smarter, and information is everywhere. MarketWise is now a large publicly traded company, but the principles we were founded on have not changed.
We still believe good research can change lives.
We still believe investors deserve honesty.
And we still believe that thinking for yourself is the most valuable edge anyone can have.
That is what it means to be independent by nature.
Our members come from more than 180 countries. Some are making their first trade. Others have managed capital for decades.
Our core principles
Deliver high-quality investing ideas
Every idea we publish is driven by research, not relationships. Independence gives us the freedom to tell the truth, even when it’s unpopular.
Present these ideas simply
Financial success starts with understanding, so our mission has always been to help investors think clearly.
Treat our subscribers the way we would want to be treated
We admit when we make mistakes and have integrity through accountability.
