| Stock Trading School Opens In Boca

BOCA RATON -- Day trading, that distant memory from the halcyon days of
the bull market, no longer is a hip career.
That's fine with David Nassar, president of Broomfield, Colo.-based
Market Wise Trading School. He says there's still enough interest in
trading stocks, futures and options to warrant a new campus in Boca
Raton.
Market Wise last week opened a 2,200-square-foot office at 925 S. Federal
Highway. It offers a five-day course for $4,500 and shorter classes
on topics such as futures and options for $2,000.
Nassar aimed to open a school here as long ago as 1999. But, says he
decided to wait out the bear market, which turned day traders from magazine
cover boys to remnants of an era most investors would rather forget.
"The market was tough," says Nassar, author of How to Get
Started in Electronic Day Trading. "While the demand was there
in Boca, being a little more careful turned out to be the right move."
The bear market flushed out those who weren't suited to day trading,
he says, leaving a more serious brand of trader these days.
"We make no false statements that the market is easy," Nassar
says. "It's not."
